Types of Massage offered at Restoration Therapeutic Massage
Treatment Massage
This is what most of what I do. It is right for you if you are looking for a massage to decrease pain, increase flexibility, raise athletic performance, improve posture, treat ongoing or long term issues, or if you just want to walk though the world more confident in your body's abilities.
Relaxation Massage
Please let me know if you'd like something to relax your muscles and your mind. The type of touch will generally be broad (think forearms, not elbow) and deep to medium pressure, not painful, but not a light touch. It can be full body (excepting private areas) or we can focus on areas where you need it most. I tend to default to a treatment way of thinking, so tell me if you'd like to truly relax!
The 3-Series
Based on the hallmark Rolfing 10-series, the 3-series is a set of massages that will cover and tune up the entire body, with the postural assessment and goal setting that will allow us to target your specific needs.
The purpose of the series is to really effect change in the body, not relaxation. You will be an active participant.
The 3-series is appropriate for those who want a really thorough full body treatment. It is not best for those with specific pain/problems, or for those who are just starting to receive help with massage.
Session 1: Complete postural assessment. Balancing the front and back of the body. Focus on the hips, legs and spine. 90 minutes.
Session 2: Focus on the breath. Opening the back, chest, ribcage, shoulders and arms. 60 minutes.
Session 3: Releasing the neck. Focus on the spine, neck and jaw. 60 minutes.
